I caught your amazing show in Santa Cruz on Friday night. Your message is really important. We spend so much time feeling like the “other” that if we can figure out how to love ourselves, we can love those around us and build a community that feels like home.
I was lucky enough to chat with you for a minute after the show. I told you about the work I do for an artisan coffee company based in Fort Bragg, CA. For over four years we have been buying coffee from a Cooperative in Uganda called Peace Kawomera composed of Jews, Christians, and Muslims that farm together under a really remarkable initiative for peace. The coffee is certified organic, Fair Trade, kosher, and halal.
This project is a major step forward for creating a system of trade that emphasizes not only economic, social, and environmental justice but also makes a concrete connection between prosperity and peace.
The Mirembe Project (named after the coffee: Mirembe Kawomera “Delicious Peace”) is a really unique manifestation of many of things that are important to you, and should be important to all of us – as consumers and as members of a global community. I really would love the opportunity to be in touch with you more about this.

Thanks for helping us all to see ourselves in a more positive light.
