Last week I flew out to New York to sit in with The Legendary Roots Crew on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon. I’m a huge fan of these dudes. Questlove is one of the greatest producers/band leaders of all time, Black Thought is among the greatest MC’s and The Roots are in my top 10 most influential Hip Hop groups. -Look for an article on my top 10 later this week.- We played “The Preacher” and “Tight Rope” along with a few freestyle pieces. It’s a shame that most of what we did was during the commercial breaks but here’s the entire episode from last Tuesday.
Poppin’ bottles with Jimmy and The Roots.
Later that night, The Roots hosted a jam session at BB King’s in Times Square for Okayplayer’s holiday party. They invited me to come do my thing and we had an amazing time. Here’s some brief footage of Thought, Mos Def and I from that party.
***UPDATE***
When I made this post on Monday, I asked if anyone had the entire footage to please post it. I awoke this morning to find all three verses on youtube courtesy of NattyNight. The first verse is from “The Trap” (Off The Record Mixtape), the second is from “The Travelers” (Us) and the third is off the head.
I’m sorry to keep on this shit but I’m such a fan of these men and it feels amazing to get on stage with them and do well. Just wanted to share that. Shout out Amir, Tariq and The Legendary for adding yet another great memory to this amazing journey. Thanks fellas.

wow, so legit. id love to see you in the studio with the roots.
