Brother Ali… I’ve known about you as a local success story for some time now, but honestly only ever occasionally listened to your stuff.. that is until i heard Fresh Air… then Us… then Tight Rope… then Baby Girl… what was i hearing? Hip Hop? Seriously? A Man who grew up in my town, traveling the world as an entertainer, and yes, the People’s Preacher of Positivity… I’ve always liked the beats and power in hip hop, but rarely the messages offered. Your words are true… your words are beautiful… Your Words Are Powerful. And your delivery, presentation… I sure hope i get to come Tuesday. I’m working on seeing if i can afford to buy a couple tickets at First Ave. I’ve yet to see you live, and not sure when my next chance would be. Plus it’s a great cause.

Anyway… I just wanted to let you know that you’ve touched my life, and in turn, are touching others that i introduce to your message, as well as just those who come in contact with the people who know of you. How can you not have started a domino effect of love and compassion?

“I started (ANYTHING) just to be somebody.. found out that I ALREADY WAS!” those are some great words right there.. more people simply need to believe that they are somebody now… not if or when, but now.
