hey this is for anyone who can help me out, ive been wanting to start reading a lot more rather then wastin my time staring at a screen. but i really dont know of many good books out there

anyone with some suggestions id appriate it

-cheers

  1. Here are some of my favorites:
    Be Here Now
    Ishmael
Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance
    Siddhartha
    The Universe in a Nutshell
    Tao Te Ching
    Transfigurations
    Sacred Mirrors

  2. Here are some incredibly awesome books:

“The Good Old Days – They Were Terrible!” by Otto Bettmann
A collection of lithographs from the 19th century, this book debunks the romantic notion that there was once a golden age where life was simpler and easier. Interesting history behind the book as well — read the wiki on Otto Bettmann and you will run to find this book.

“Lies My Teacher Told Me” by James Loewen
Excellent overview of some of the most important historical events that most American History textbooks distort or ignore. It also goes into how and why these textbooks are so skewed.

“The Tao of Physics” by Fritzjov Capra
Pretty heavy stuff, but if you’re up for it, one of the most profound books ever written. It basically gives an overview of the tenets of several Eastern religions and compares them with the latest findings from quantum physics and relativity theory, and conclusively shows them to be parallel descriptions of the nature of reality.

    ANYTHING by Kurt Vonnegutt
The man was one of the most gifted writers of our time. “Slaughterhouse 5″ or “Cat’s Cradle” are good places to start. He combines a dry sense of humor with insightful commentary on human behavior. Hard books to put down.

  4. Hi Gilly…

I would love to help you find a great book, but in order to send you any suggestions, i need to know what you like, what makes you happy, what you’re interested in reading about, what you think would be a great story….
( I personally love books about real people…. their lives and their struggles…. but i can’t read a book without humor in it…. )

So please, fill me in and I’ll send you some suggestions of my favorite books. Maybe if we’re lucky they’ll become your favorites too.
