For the next month BK-One, Fashawn and I are traveling throughout North America on The Breakin’ Dawn Tour. BK and I have been on the road since September promoting BK’s album, Radio Do Canibal and my album, Us. We did over 50 shows in the US and another 30 in Europe. This tour gives us a chance to touch base with the cities we missed on those tours and a great deal of the shows are in Canada. These are markets where we’re long overdue.
THEME SONG
It’s becoming a tradition for BK and I to make theme songs for the tours we put together. We take pride in the crew we bring out with us and it’s important to make it a complete package. There’s nothing more anti-climactic that having a great show and being called out for an encore only to stand on stage awkwardly fubling through the last few minutes of the night. These theme songs give you guys a chance to hear what the touring crew can do together and we taylor them to serve as a perfect finalie to the shows. -Rappers, I know you’re gonna bite this idea, but have some self repect and let us do our thing for a few years first. OK?
“Breakin’ Dawn Boys” is the theme for this tour and it’s one of those songs that make themselves. BK supplied the sample and scratches, I hooked up the beat and Fashawn wrote his rhymes on the spot. Didn’t have to force this one, we just let it hapen.
FASHAWN
We’re blessed to be joined on this entire run by Fresno CA’s own, Fashawn. You might recognize my man from this month’s cover of XXL magazine, “The Freshman 10″. If you’re not familiar with Fash’s work, do yourself a favor and pick up a copy of Boy Meets World, his debut album produced by Exile. He’s one of those naturally gifted MC’s who makes himself comfortably at home in any setting. His flow is perfection and his voice has an electricity that I haven’t heard in a long time. To top it off, the kid is 21 years old and his writing is amazingly interesting, personal and welcoming. My brother, Evidence hipped me to dude and I’ve been a fan ever since. His album is one of my top 10 for 2009 and there’s so much potential there. If you’re a lover of Hip Hop or just good music, you’re gonna want to get on board and follow this cat’s career from the beginning. I have a feeling it’s gonna be a hell of a ride.
Here’s the video for his single, “Life As A Shorty”.
BK-ONE
Once again, BK, my tour partner and right hand man is DeeJaying all night long for this tour. He’s mixing Fashawn’s set, our set and has some solo moments at these shows. If you haven’t already, make sure to check out his debut album, Radio Do Canibal on Rhymesayers Entertainment.
Here’s his single “Tema Do Canibal”
The first show tonight in Fargo was sold out and wonderful. Wednesday night’s show in Montana is nearing a sell out but they’ve saved a few tickets for the first folks in line at the venue. I imagine a lot of these shows will sell out so get your tickets now and come party with us.
SEE YOU ON THE ROAD!
-Ali

I love your new theme song!
The three of you flow so well on that track.
I hope you break it out for the show this weekend!
Peace
